The Imperial Dispensary
1900: A kangaroo approaches Joseph Chamberlain (1836 - 1914), 'Colonial Chemist and Druggist according to the British Pharmacopoeia', saying 'I've got a sort of.. er.. feeling of oppression. My doctor at home gave me that prescription.' Chamberlain replies, 'Abolition of Appeal to Privy Council! Of course, I could make it up for you, but I think I can give you something that will exactly suit your constitution'. Chamberlain championed the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act, unifying the Australian colonies as a single nation.
