Joycie Fickett was at her husbands Los Angeles office with drawings he did of the homes he designed , on March 4, 2010. When Better Homes & Gardens selected a Rolling Hills Estates home by Edward H. Fickett as its 1957 house of the year, the magazine described the Los Angeles architect as "the Frank Lloyd Wright of the '50s." But, despite a prolific fivedecade career, the modernist designer never came close to achieving the fame of, say, Neutra and Schindler, not to mention Wright. His widow, Joycie Fickett, wants to preserve his legacy. (Photo by Glenn Koenig/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images)
