Buddhist Funeral Of Death Cafe Founder Jon Underwood Takes Place In London

LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 06: Family and friends attend the funeral of Jon Underwood at the Jamyang Buddhist Centre on July 6, 2017 in London, England. The funeral of Jon Underwood, founder of the Death Cafe movement, took place in London today. He had worked closely with the Jamyang Buddhist Centre and Compassionate Funerals for the centre to be able to conduct Buddhist funerals and his is the first one to be held there. The Death Cafe movement brings people together to talk freely and openly about dying and death over tea and cake. It has held over 5000 events in 50 countries. His pioneering work has been the subject of many newspaper articles and also a World Service radio documentary. Jon died suddenly in June from undiagnosed Acute promyelocytic leukemia aged 44.
