When the band formed they were heavily influenced by American folk rock, covering artists such as Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell. Their next two albums steered more towards traditional British music. The band's third album Liege & Lief featured only songs that were either original or adapted from traditional British and Celtic folk material.
