Parisians Turn To Trottinettes To Beat The Traffic

PARIS, FRANCE - APRIL 04: Electric two wheeled scooters, also called 'trottinettes' are seen in the streets on April 4, 2019 in Paris, France. Paris has been confronted with new dangers from the scooters such as excessive speed and user inexperience that has resulted in falls and collisions with cars or pedestrians. Road accidents have increased dramatically (23%) since the electric scooters arrived in the capital and the surrounding suburbs. No law exists today that makes wearing a helmet obligatory or taking a passenger with you on the scooter. When not in use the scooters can be randomly left in the street creating a hazard for pedestrians. (Photo by John van Hasselt/Corbis via Getty Images)
