A defibrillator is on the wall of the tourism office of Valloire (Savoie), eastern France on February 6, 2008 . The preventative use of a defibrillator can save a cardiac arrest victim from ventricular fibrillation (leading cause of sudden death in adults). The defibrillation, also known as electric shock or external cardioversion is a medical gesture which sends an electrical current through the heart.
