(Original Caption) 6/26/1947-Cleveland, OH- George Gainford, manager of "Sugar" Ray Robinson, world's welterweight champ, helps carry Los Angeles' Jimmy Doyle from the ring in Cleveland Arena after Robinson dealt Doyle a knockout blow with 9 seconds remaining in the 8th round. Sugar Ray won by a TKO when Doyle couldn't answer the bell here, three hours after the fight. Gainford is wearing a t-shirt with Sugar Ray on the back.
