China's Zhang Jiahao competes in the men

China's Zhang Jiahao competes in the men's programme of the National Short Track Speed Skating competition in Beijing on January 7, 2010, from where some atheletes will get to represent China at the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympic Games. China made their winter Olympics debut at Lake Placid in 1990 but didn't win its first medals until Albertville in 1992 with two silvers in speed skating. Speed skating has since been China's strongest winter sport accounting for 25, or almost 80 percent of China's winter Olympic medals, including the nine won in Torino in 2006. AFP PHOTO/Frederic J.
