British maintenance engineer Darren Unsw

British maintenance engineer Darren Unsworth polishes the wooden floor during the annual cleaning of the ballroom in Blackpool Tower in Blackpool, north-west England, on January 16, 2012. The annual cleaning of Blackpool Tower's iconic ballroom takes two weeks and has to be done with the up-most care to ensure the whole Ballroom looks just as good as it did when it opened back in 1899. The process starts off with the wooden floors, made out of 30,602 blocks of mahogany, oak and walnut, being stripped back, sanded down and then polished to perfection. Following which the 14 chandeliers are gently dusted and bulbs replaced. AFP PHOTO / ANDREW YATES (Photo credit should read ANDREW YATES/AFP via Getty Images)
