Great 20th Century Explorers
British explorer Colonel Percy Fawcett (1867 - 1925?) sits atop the horse which he rode to the edge of the jungle at which point he said good-bye to his local guides, who refused to go further, and set off with his son, Jack, and Jack's friend Raleigh Rimmell, in pursuit of the Lost City of Z, Brazil, 1925. No trace of the three was ever seen again in spite of over a dozen expeditions (costing over a hundred additional lives) that went into the jungle in search of the three adventurers.
