The LIFE Picture Collection

“To see life … to see the world; to eyewitness great events.” With these words, founding editor and publisher Henry R. Luce laid the foundation for what would become America’s first picture magazine.

“LIFE is one of the world’s most iconic and well known brands. The LIFE Picture Collection documents events in politics, culture, celebrities, the arts and the American experience. The collection contains close to one million images from LIFE Magazine and other treasures in the LIFE Photo Archive, representing some of the greatest photographers of the 20th century such as Alfred Eisenstaedt, Margaret Bourke-White, Andreas Feininger, John Dominis, Nina Leen and Gjon Mili.”
