Bathing brown bear in Hokkaido

A brown bear goes out of a stream after bathing. Medium shot / The brown bear is, together with the polar bear, one of the largest members of the bear family. Brown bears vary in size quite considerably depending on nutrition, sometimes growing huge to a body weight of over 300kg when they have good access to salmon and trout. The brown bear of Hokkaido is regarded as a symbolic creature of this northern island.
