After several days of rain, we walked in the early evening on muddy tracks to the one restaurant in the small, remote community of Halibut Cove, a boat only accessible port, where we celebrated birthday. Soon after our arrival, the sky cleared and the wind stopped with the water in the bay as still as glass. The arctic light was low on the horizon, softening the color, when I took this from the pier by the boardwalk. The narrowing channel leads the eye to the distant mountains of Katchemak State Park across the bay from Homer, Alaska.
