Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) compete for food just under the surface in the waters of Moorea. The shark is identified by the predominately black tips on its fins. Blacktip reef sharks are found throughout the nearshore waters of the tropical and subtropical Indo-Pacific, as well as certain portions of the Indian and Pacific oceans.
