First Condom Shop Opens In Bali

In a bid to promote safe sex and family planning in the world's largest Muslim country, Indonesia's first shop selling condoms only - which trades as "The Guard" - opened in April in Bali. It offers a wide range of both male and female condoms in a variety of colours and flavours. The owners, an Australian woman from Sydney, Sarah Bagus and her Muslim Indonesian husband Endyk Bagus, hope to expand the shop concept around Indonesia. For every condom sold, "The Guard" will give away Rp. 500 (about 6 cents US Dollar) to charity to HIV prevention NGO groups to raise public awareness of safe sex in Indonesia.
