The Flea Theater will soon present "The Great Recession," six short plays about how the recession has affected young people. It will feature a group of young actors called the Bats, who are regulars at The Flea theater. Among the Bats who will perform The Great Recession are Sarah Stephens, 26, and Robert Grant, 24, who rehearse a fight scene. They have a fight scene in Classic Kitchen Timer, written and directed by Adam Rapp. The play shows an America descended into such economic desperation that people will kill a baby for $25,000. That chant at the end there seems to blame the postindustrial complex. (Photo by Carolyn Cole/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images)
