New Officer Selection Process
Potential British Army officers climbing a stile on an obstacle course during an officer training selection programme, September 1942. At the end of the course, their aptitude will be evaluated by a team of psychiatrists. The training is part of a new, three-day selection course for officer trainees. This selection process replaces the earlier system of a fifteen-minute interview and is intended to increase efficiency and to be less subject to distinctions of social class.
