BEIJING, CHINA - 2014/06/09: Parents wait outside Beijing Dongzhimen high school. For most common Chinese parents, supporting children to go to college is their biggest wish, so on the big day of exams, they gather together to wait for hours outside. In 2014, 9.39 million students enrolled in the college entrance examination. Though the number of examinees has risen a little for the first time in the last five years, there are still 1 million abandoning the examination, who choose to work directly after high school or go to college abroad. For those not from big cities or rich families, to compete in the college entrance examination is the only and the best choice. China faces more pressure in educational reform.
