A Dogon Village.

Most daily activity in a Dogon villiage is out in the open, houses are dark and small. Here, a man weaves cotton cloth, which is used especially for the clothes of the older men. Dyed blue with indigo, it is made into tunics and wide plantaloons. Dogon men almost always wear bonnets. They decorate their clothing and sandals with cowrie shells. Women wearing skirts of shop bought cloth carry baskets of grain. (Photo by: Brown Bear/Windmil Books/Universal Images Group via Getty Images)
