Men delivering fresh water hyacinth at Water Hyacinth...
LAS PINAS, PHILIPPINES - 2015/04/09: Men delivering fresh water hyacinth at Water Hyacinth Weaving Enterprise, which provides livelihood to over 200 families, which was set up by Villar Sipag Foundation. Water hyacincths are considered as aquatic pest in Las Pinas because they block waterways of rivers which caused flooding during rainy season, thus, residents harvest them and dry the stalks, which become the raw material for producing baskets, trays, slippers, and other functional and ornamental items.
