MOJAVE DESERT, CA - JANUARY 28, 2016: David Lamfrom, director of California Desert and National Wildlife Programs, walks out of the shadows in the Mojave Desert which President Obama has just designated as a National Monument near the Castle Mountains about 10 miles north of Nipton, California. Lamfrom worked the last 8 years to try and get this land protected.
