Amazing New Manual For Concorde Owners

UNSPECIFIED - UNDATED: *** EXCLUSIVE *** Concorde dimensions. Ford Escort and Mini owners have used the infamous Haynes practical manuals for advice on servicing their motors for years - but now owners of the world's only supersonic passenger jet can join in. The 'flying, maintenance and operation' guide to Concorde is now on sale and is a jesting tribute to one of the planet's most famous planes. Haynes' practical manuals for cars normally cover keeping the engine well oiled or fixing a broken fan belt. The fun 'Owners' Workshop Manual for Concorde: 1969 onwards (all models)' covers flying faster than sound using the aircrafts' four Rolls-Royce olympus engines. Detailed diagrams also take the reader through an in-depth guide on the confusing display containing hundreds of panels and instruments used by former pilots. Also included is a history of the English-French project and how it came to a finish when both countries' fleets were retired in 2003. The new book, which came out this month, was written by co-authors former Captain David Leney, 75, and former Senior Engineer David Macdonald, 71 - two of British Airways' most experienced Concorde flight crew who have thousands of Concorde flying hours between them. Haynes are based in Yeovil, Somerset, and have been publishing owners' manuals since the 1960s. The Concorde manual follows he success of other playful Haynes titles including the Spitfire and even teenagers. PHOTOGRAPH BY HAYNES / BARCROFT MEDIA LTD UK Office, London.
