AFGHANISTAN-US-ATTACKS-ENDURING FREEDOM-CHINA-NEW FLAG

A brand new flag of the Republic of China is flown on top of the Chinese embassy after it was replaced with the old one in Kabul, 20 December 2001, while its security guard Aziz Ullah appears in the foreground. A Chinese delegation headed by former ambassador Zhang Min arrived at the embassy to replace the old flag and inspect the premises. This marks the return of the ambassador to the embassy in Kabul for the first time after eight years when the embassy was closed in 1993 for security reasons.
